Committees.
STANDING COMMITTEE GROUPS.
The work of the Southwestern Indiana Builders Association is largely coordinated through standing committees. Each committee is comprised of representatives of member firms and is headed by a chairperson, who is appointed by the SIBA president annually. Participation on a committee is a great way to meet more people and get the most out of SIBA membership. Join A Committee Today!
Parade of Homes Committee
The Parade of Homes, an annual event sponsored by SIBA, gives the community an opportunity to see first-hand the quality and workmanship that are the trademarks of SIBA member firms and to experience the latest in new home design and construction techniques. The Parade of Homes Committee coordinates all efforts related to this week-long event.
Fall Tour of Homes
The Fall Tour of Homes allows SIBA members to showcase great craftsmanship and innovative ideas. The Fall Tour offers the best opportunity to visit all kinds of homes right here in southwestern Indiana. Many homes on the Tour are completed, while some homes are still under construction and can include buyer input. The Fall Tour also includes building lots ready for house plans!
Membership Committee
In addition to conducting ongoing member recruiting and retention initiatives, the SIBA Membership Committee reviews all membership applications to determine if applicants meet membership requirements, then reports to the Board of Directors as to whether or not it recommends approving the application.
Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee offers scholarships to qualified high school or college students who exhibit outstanding performance in the classroom and for service in the community. The scholarships are intended to promote academic excellence and future civic involvement, particularly in building and building-related fields.
Golf Outings Committee
SIBA sponsors two golf outings each year as a way to promote the organization, raise funds for the SIBA Build PAC, and just have an all-around good time socializing with members of the building industry. The Golf Outings Committee coordinates the events, including securing sponsorships and prizes, registering foursomes, and planning post-tournament dinners.
Codes Committee
The SIBA Codes Committee discuses the latest developments in local and state building codes, and recommends policy to the Board of Directors to help SIBA members proactively adopt codes for the betterment of the building industry.
Political Action Committee
The Political Action Committee (SIBA Build PAC) is a committee with effective political involvement to promote safe and affordable housing. Its funds are raised by various means, including fundraiser events and generous contributions from SIBA members. The PAC determines which candidates to support for our industry.
